Sam Arkut is a Singer, Songwriter and Acoustic finger-style Guitarist from Anlaby in East Riding of Yorkshire, near Hull. He started learning acoustic guitar at age 15 when he discovered some influences, such as Newton Faulkner, who first inspired him to play, followed by Andy McKee, Jon Gomm, Thomas Leeb and many others, including Singer/Songwriters such as Ed Sheeran, Daryl Kellie, etc. Most of them are known for creating unique sounds on acoustic guitar, such as playing percussion, tapping, harmonics as well as other standard techniques used in finger-style.
Sam has supported Alexandra Burke, Marcus Collins, Elliott Morris and David Barton as well as performing at numerous popular venues including Hull City Hall, Sheffield City Hall and the IndigO2 stage at the O2 arena in London.

He has been given an award for his best original song 'Sitting By The River' in North of England and Scotland in 2012.

He has performed live radio on the David Burns show and James Hoggarth show on BBC Radio Humberside and Alan Raw’s show on BBC Introducing Humberside. His original tracks have gained some airplay on BBC Introducing Humberside and his original track ‘Waste Your Time’ has gained airplay on BBC Radio Leeds on the 'The Mark Forrest Evening Show' across the country.
He has performed in festivals, such as Springboard festival, Filey Folk Festival, Filey Blues Festival, Hull Folk festival, Hull Pride, Siren Sound summer and winter festival, Hull Trinity festival, Mat Fest, Briggstock Acoustic Festival.After playing all these gigs and festivals, he is hoping to continue performing more gigs as much as he can for everyone to enjoy his music, as well as creating a larger fan base and see where it takes him.
